Job Description

Job Title: Procurement Representative
Location: Whiteley, Fareham
Rate: £16 p/hr
Duration: 12 months

Please note, all successful applicants will be required to have the necessary residency requirements to achieve security clearance at the appropriate level for this position. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

This position reports to the Procurement & Contracts Manager. Responsible for conducting and supporting IT procurement activities related to the acquisition of general goods and services to meet programme schedule, quality and cost objectives. Responsibilities include, developing and implementing purchasing strategies in conjunction with the project management team to satisfy programme objectives; negotiating non-standard terms and purchase agreements as required to meet set objectives; supporting the department in related activities throughout the procurement life cycle.

Undertake Source Selection:
" Issue and analyse Request for Quotations (RFQs)
" Vetting of responses
" Assist with or make sourcing recommendations as appropriate and identify risks

Conduct negotiations:
" Participate and lead as appropriate planning and approval process for negotiation
" Prepare and complete negotiations within approved limits and in a timely manner
" Participate and lead as appropriate fact finding, negotiation and follow up activity
" Negotiate non-standard agreements with support as appropriate
" Provide support and assistance to lead as appropriate
" Prepare and/or assist in preparation of written correspondence, presentations, reports and contract summaries and briefs facility management on related issues.
" Will assume additional responsibility as directed.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills:

" Experience in a procurement environment

Desired skills:
The following skills are preferable but not essential at the commencement of this role:
" LEAN Management skills
" Category Management Skills
" Negotiation planning and execution
" Presentation planning and execution
" Experience in IT procurement
