Our client is looking for a performance engineer with experience working on internal combustion engines to join their team.

Principal Performance Engineer
Location - Southampton
Salary up to £48,000 for the right candidate + Benefits

A leading and rapidly expanding organisation is currently seeking to recruit a Principal Performance Engineer within their complex Engineering environment based in Southampton.

The Principal Performance Engineer will be responsible for the performance analysis of both current and future products and applications. Other responsibilities include running Aerodynamic and Thermodynamic simulations on new and current company products, supporting the bid/tender process by providing conclusions and recommendations drawn from performance simulations. The Principal Performance Engineer will also be available developing work packages whilst being customer focused

In order to be considered for this position, candidates must hold:

Essential: Mechanical Engineering Degree - 2:1 or higher and a post graduate qualification Desirable: PhD or other relevant specialist qualification Practical Experience:

Essential: Strong understanding of turbo machinery, IC engines and aero/thermodynamics. Analysis and validation background.

Desirable: High speed rotating machinery analysis, turbines, electrical machines, power electronics, data acquisition and instrumentation, hands-on experience. Skills and Competence:

Essential: Matlab/Simulink, Excel VBA, Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint, report writing and presentation skills.

Desirable: FEA, CFD, CAD

Available to travel internationally occasionally for short periods
Holds a current passport and EU/UK driving licence

This position is based in Southampton and is commutable from Portsmouth, Winchester, Salisbury, Fareham, Eastleigh and other locations within the Hampshire region.
