Job Description

Principal Test & Development Engineer
Location: Rocester, Staffordshire

Would you like to join a globally known brand who are going through a consistent amount of growth within a number of their facilities at their HQ in Staffordshire? As a result of this continual growth, new product development and worldwide regulatory progression and divergence, they are seeking a Principal Engineer to join their Vehicle Test & Development team.

The successful candidate will work closely with a number of teams internally, senior managers and multiple other stakeholders to test & develop product designs, propose design solutions, design & commission test rigs, data acquisition & analysis, mentor engineers within the team and more.

Ideally, you will currently be working in a similar role within an off-highway, agricultural/construction/commercial/military vehicle background designing test and development solutions for whole vehicle applications. You may also be mentoring other junior engineers on similar test programmes.

About you:

+ Ideally degree qualified in an engineering discipline, HND/HNC with equivalent experience would also be considered.
+ A member of a professional engineering body would be beneficial, Chartered Engineer status (CEng), IMechE or similar.
+ A good communicator who can liaise with people at all levels internally and externally.

Skills/Knowledge:

+ A solid background in design/development of test solutions for off-highway vehicles/machines.
+ A demonstrable knowledge of drivetrain, hydraulics, vehicle structures, moving parts for vehicles.
+ A good knowledge of test development, keeping up to date with new and innovative ways of testing whole vehicles.

Salary:

£40,000 - £50,000
