We have an opportunity within a leading automotive client, based out of their Warwickshire head office. As Powertrain Systems Engineer we feel this opportunity would be a great move for someone already within the Automotive Industry and will allow you to work in a forward-thinking and market leading business.

Position Description:
Responsible for two main functions: - deploy, maintain and champion the weight across all Powertrain commodities - build and maintain the connections and partnership between Powertrain Research and Powertrain Integration teams The management of 2 resources (one dedicated to the weight, other one dedicated to the Research) is part of the role.

Skills Required:
1. Good level of understanding of Powertrain Systems. Previous successful experience in: - Project management / Project delivery - direct management - process definition / process improvement.
2. Good communication, interpersonal skills, self-confidence and self-motivation are the personal qualities needed to succeed in this high pressure environment. Being able to deliver with minimum supervision. Proficient with Microsoft Pack Office.
3. Previous experience in Weight Reduction Processes and Weight Management, preferably in Automotive or Aeronautics Industry

Experience Required:
Strong understanding of the automotive as a sum of inter-connected system (Powertrain, Chassis, Body, Electrical), Strong background in automotive system, Strong background in weight saving (e.g. materials, design/manufacturing techniques), Strong background in forging good working relationships cross-functionally, Strong ability to persuade and convince, A relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Experience Preferred:
Self-motivated and adaptable to changing demands, highly confident in communicating Engineering solutions and Program status within all levels of the business. Expected to be self-motivated and adaptable to changing demands combined with a strong ability to persuade and convince. Passionate about the development of products, Current Driving Licence.

Additional Information:
Based at Whitley but travel to Gaydon required.
