My client is currently looking for a Design Engineer to join a growing international engineering consultancy that works within a major automotive OEM. The company is investing in growth and new facilities and is looking to expand a number of teams and capabilities throughout the organisation.

Profile:
Working in a team, the Design Engineer will be responsible for packaging activities that could involve various major under-body systems such as spare wheel, sub-frames, fuel tanks, etc.

Requirements:
" Highly proficient CAD user with 3D visualisation.
" Proven ability in the use of Visual mock up.
" Expertise in Catia V5 & (ideally) TCe trained with good visualisation & engineering skills.
" Previous Proven ability in vehicle under-body mechanical, Trim packaging.
" Good visualisation and engineering skills relating to under-body systems and their interactions
" Good communicator whilst being comfortable working with a number of different teams and the client.
" Objective driven with ability to focus on the solutions rather than just the problem
" A working level understanding of Microsoft based systems (MS office suite etc)
" The ability to work autonomously and within a team
" An understanding of risk management
" Confident in making data driven decisions
" Happy to work in a flexible way to support the delivery of the overall objectives

Desirable:
" Can demonstrate a working knowledge of the concept and packaging process covering a variety of vehicle under-body.
" Proven ability in working with other design teams to ensure integration and package requirements are met.
" Worked and operated within an engineering and/or manufacturing environment within either the automotive or aerospace industries
" Proven ability in running or contributing to packaging meetings and presenting technical/packaging conflicts and solutions.
" Can demonstrate a flexible approach to the way they work
" Experienced at dealing with engineering conflict whilst remaining delivery focused
" Used to working within a highly productive team
" Used to working with limited supervision
