Our automotive client based in Oxfordshire are looking for CNC Operations Controllers to join them either on a contract or permanent basis to work on their innovative hybrid and electric commercial vehicles.

Job Description

Operations Controllers

Reports to the Managing Director

Purpose

To provide day to day management of the shop floor operations ensuring that the manufacturing process operates correctly and to plan so that quality products are produced, on time and on budget.

Responsibilities

o To provide day to day control and operations of the CNC systems
o To ensure that you comply with Health and Safety Procedures
o Apply lean principles to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and products.
o Build Control Process
o Create 'step by step' standard operating procedures for the product design.
o To work with the team with regards to project planning, selection of equipment and suppliers.
o An ambassador driving continuous improvement in lean manufacturing, safety, quality and efficiency.

Technical Expertise

o To have a solid understanding of Manufacturing Systems and workplace IT Systems.
o A high level of competence and practical operations application experience to support lean and design manufacturing processes.
o Six Sigma Black Belt in lean manufacturing and expertise gained within the heavy duty automotive arena is desirable.
o The ability to analyse CAD to transfer to manufacturing, experience and knowledge of Catia V6 and ideally Solidworks
o The ability to articulate in written format the design for manufacture, for ease of production is essential.
