Operational Acceptance Testing (OAT) Manager - Service Transition

Operational Acceptance Testing (OAT) involves managing the test cycle for the operational aspects within the system that have been added as either new features or modifications to existing features, to ensure that new application/infrastructure are robust and fit for purpose. It involves the verification and validation of system requirements that do not directly relate to system functionality.

This includes testing of the operational aspects of the system that have been added either as new features or as modifications to existing features of the system such disaster recovery testing, monitoring, support requirements, server builds and security testing.

The role also includes elements of Service Transition working with projects to ensure they are providing the necessary deliverables and artefacts for successful transition into production support

This resource is required to review with the Infrastructure support teams their acceptance criteria, draft test scripts, plan and resource an operational test plan, and execute the plan.
On conclusion of operational testing, produce a report and make a recommendation as to the status of operational acceptance. It also involves protecting production services and having the empowerment to ensure only suitable services are allowed into live.
The candidate will also be expected to perform a Service Transition function ensuring projects are delivering the correct artefacts throughout the project lifecycle

A demonstrable understanding of the Energy business and the demands/impact on IT.
A systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to problem solving.
Team work skills are essential, working in an established OAT and Service Transition team
Able to manage own workload effectively.
Excellent written and verbal skills.
Excellent level of technical experience in Infrastructure technologies including Windows, Unix and storage
A good level of technical experience in the following: Qualys; IT Vendor Lifecycle knowledge; IT Security & Vulnerability Management; Software deployment technologies; DR process, SCOM, SCCM and OEM
Understanding of Batch and Interface processes, specifically around TWS and Filemover
Be able to provide low level reporting to senior management and stakeholders as well as show the ability and empowerment to stop projects that do not meet OAT Entry or Exit requirements
