Network Security Engineer - London
£50,000 - £55,000pa + Shift Allowance & Benefits

The role
The Network Security Engineer will act as subject matter specialist for network security and also provide technical guidance and direction within a team of 4 engineers across other supported technologies. The candidate will have primary technical responsibility for the day to day support, operational and management of the client's network.

These responsibilities include:
* Network management including operational oversight of configuration items
* Incident management - including SLA jeopardy management
* Change management - including preparation, implementation and review
* Engagement in Projects that have a direct impact on live, operational services
* Potential and willingness to support Design and Transition activities of Projects if required
* Technical and Process supervision, mentoring and support of other team members
* Monitoring capacity thresholds and taking action through established ITIL processes

The person
A dynamic and enthusiastic Network Security Engineer is required, with a good balance of technical competency, and stakeholder credibility.
The individual performing this role should be able to understand and articulate how the technical work they lead supports the client's operational goals.

Essential skills:
* CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional)
* Significant Network Security engineering experience
* Experience of configuring/troubleshooting/monitoring Firewalls and IPS solutions, including at least two of the following: Cisco ASA (Firewall, VPN) / Cisco Anyconnect RAS / Check Point (GAiA and SPLAT) / Palo Alto Networks firewalls
* Experience of working in a managed service environment, ideally within an on-site team
* Excellent written, oral and communication skills
