This role offers an excellent balance of hands-on mechanical maintenance and repairs whilst also requiring a significant amount of theoretical work by keeping up to date on the relevant legislation and best practice of the mechanical activities you are responsible for.

You will be expected to carry out the majority of repairs and maintenance required to the building air conditioning systems, whilst demonstrating our legal compliance through effective management systems. F-Gas certification is essential for this role; however, this can be gained whilst in post.

Plumbing skills are desirable so that in-house repairs and modifications can be carried out, however you will also be expected to be fully aware of the regulations surrounding Legionella control and to ensure the management system demonstrating our legal compliance is keep up to date.

Reporting directly to the Site Manager, you will at this current time have no direct reports of your own however you will be required to obtain mechanical labour support from other members of the department on an ad hoc basis.

You will oversee the new 'Site Management - Mechanical' Support Request System (SRS) which allows our customers to report faults or other requests directly to you.
This work will generally be of a reactive nature, but you will be expected to be in full control of the planned preventative maintenance of all mechanical duties you are responsible for.

You will be expected to keep the maintenance schedule for all mechanical items up to date whether the works be carried out by yourself or via subcontractors. You will also be expected to keep abreast of the latest legislative requirements pertaining to your duties.

The Fuel Farm is a very specialist area of expertise and although you are not required to be a technical expert you are required to liaise with internal and external experts to ensure the fuel farm facility is fit for purpose. You will advise the Site Manager on legal compliance issues and where upgrades are required.

You will be required to coordinate these upgrades whilst working collaboratively with the Fuel Farm Supervisor whose role covers the operational and maintenance aspects of the fuel farm.

It is understood that it is unlikely you will be aware of the legal compliance issues and technical aspects of the fuel farm before taking the post. However, it is expected that you dedicate the time to study the regulations and communicate with technical experts to ensure you are in a positon to advise the Site Manager on these points.
