Mechanical Facilities Engineer

Leciestershire, Desford

As an Mechanical Facilities Engineer at Caterpillar you will work both independently and as part of the Plant Engineering Team. You will have responsibility to manage teams to deliver goals and projects, analyse and recommend systems, procedures, training and equipment needs based on facility requirements.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

- Prepares documentation for compliance of site mechanical systems to a planned maintenance program utilising a Maintenance Management System
- Investigates maintenance-related issues and recommends solutions
- Troubleshoots equipment and systems to prevent downtime
- Liaises with 3rd party contractors to ensure compliance
- Assists in the design of building changes
- Verifies equipment and systems effectiveness and recommends revision or purchase of new equipment
- Manages / leads maintenance resources performing maintenance and repairs
- Manage / lead new facility improvement projects
- Manage / lead new Equipment Installation projects

Skills, experience & qualifications you will have;

- Internal candidates must have satisfactorily completed a minimum of one years’ service in their current position to apply for another role, or have obtained, in writing, authorisation from their manager to waive this requirement. Candidates should always inform their manager prior to applying for any new role.
- Internal candidates must not have any live disciplinaries or be on a performance action plan
- Mechanical Engineering degree
- Previous job relevant experience
- Previous experience in equipment specification, equipment diagnostics, systems integration and maintenance coordination using Maintenance Management Systems
- Good communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills

Skills, experience & qualifications you may have;

- Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to work with a diverse group of employees and customers
