An automotive/F1 market leader have significant plans to grow their permanent head count by over a hundred between now and 2018 due to new model development as well as continuing to develop high performance engines for the F1 market. The company require no formal introduction and are a highly sought after employer by engineers all over globe.

As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for both component and system level engineering of the boosting systems and integration of the engine power unit within their IC engines team. This will be a full-lifecycle role where you will be responsible for turning project requirements in to functional specifications, perform detailed designs of components and systems before performing simulations to validate your designs. You will also need to specify and design any experiments and tests which may be required to validate the performance and reliability of your designs before supporting the engineering release process. Furthermore, being a systems owner you will be responsible for liaising with other internal stakeholders and often have to back up your ideas with sound engineering knowledge.

Ideally you will be currently working as a mechanical engineer, systems engineer or similar on automotive turbocharger, boosting or power unit integration programmes. You may also be working on hybrid engines or gearbox programmes.

Skills/Knowledge;

- A relevant engineering degree with a 2:1 classification or higher is an absolute must!
- Prior background in turbo system design would be extremely beneficial.
- Usage of industry standard CAD systems - preferably Catia V5.
- Excellent knowledge of mechanical engineering practices and systems.
- Knowledge of hybrid powertrain components.
- Prior background in engine system component design within an automotive/F1 environment.
- An effective communicator who can liaise with people at all levels internally and externally.
