Job Description

Materials Liaison

Reports to the Plant Manager

Purpose

Supporting the Plant Manager and the engineering team and co-coordinating with our logistics partner the role holder will provide day-to-day management of logistics and planning to ensure that the shop floor operations receive the appropriate resources. The role holder will also ensure that the appropriate supply chain controls are in place so that quality products are produced effectively on time and to budget.

Responsibilities

o To provide day to day management of logistics and planning
o To develop and manage appropriate measures for Supply Chain Control
o To maintain supplier performance tracking to ensure that Supplier Performance is effectively maintained and recommend solutions for any under performance
o Apply lean principles and analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and products.
o To maintain materials path tracking and value add identification
o To oversee material quality control
o An ambassador forging great relationship with the team and our logistics partner and also driving continuous improvement in lean manufacturing, safety, quality and efficiency.

Technical Expertise

o To have a degree in manufacturing, logistics or supply chain management or have gained proven practical experience with a solid understanding of logistics and planning, supply chain control and workplace IT Systems.
o A high level of experience with practical operations
