Market Quality Project Engineer- Powertrain

Powertrain quality engineer required to be responsible for quickly resolving and preventing reoccurrence of Quality concerns. To work in collaboration with factory and service to aid quick recovery of market concerns.

Job Description

Quality engineer- Powertrain
Swindon (commutable from Reading, Oxford, Andover, Bristol, Cheltenham, Gloucester)

Main Responsibilities:
o Managing Quality concerns related to design and specification
o Managing projects with multi-functional teams (Factory, Service, Purchasing and Design)
o Carry out complex technical investigations and deploy countermeasure actions that reduce
Warranty cost and improve customer satisfaction.
o Work in Engine category
o Travel to incident vehicles, operational environment and actual customer concerns.
o Take hands on approach to locally re producing concerns and analysing defective parts.
o To take investigation beyond the existing company available information.
o Reporting problem status and future activities to top management internally and externally.
o The role will require frequent travel to overseas and on occasions at short notice.

Qualifications, skills and experience required:
o University degree in Automotive Engineering/ Equivalent qualification (Essential)
o Good knowledge of Powertrain systems (Essential) - ICE, Transmission, Hybrids, EV(Desirable)
o Demonstrable Problem solving skills (Essential)
o An adept communicator, be able to build good relationships across all teams (Essential)
o Be proactive and demonstrate high level of self-motivation to deliver (Essential)
o You will need to have a flexible attitude and stay focussed under pressure (Essential)
o Excellent IT skills (Excel, Power Point) (Essential)
o Project management skills (Desirable)
o Experience of engine data logging (Desirable)
