Job Description

A Key Manufacturing client is looking for a Lubrication Technician to join the team on a FTC for 12 months in Overton (West Basingstoke) paying £27,900p/a.
The Lubrication Technician will be responsible for executing lubrication tasks as per the Planned Preventative Maintenance schedule. As well as existing regimes, the role will involve continual development and improvement of existing techniques, including Oil Sampling, maintenance of automated lubrication systems and obsolescence.
Role and responsibilities:
o Ensure planned Lubrication routines are performed on all equipment in a timely manner and history logged in CMMS system - including sampling, filter changes, oil top ups etc
o Collection of Oil samples on a periodic basis, including review and action upon receipt of results
o Actively promote team working and effective communications within the department.
o To undertake safe working in line with the company's Health and Safety management systems and any relevant initiatives.
o Build strong working relationships with Technical Support team from Lubricant Supplier
o Constantly look to improve methods, productivity and efficiency of lubrication application.
o Contribute to the analysis of failures and problems using EWO's and quick kaizans, recommending corrective actions.
o Propose economic ways to extend the life of the Mills equipment regards lubrication
o Ensure Accuracy of lubrication database and schedules, including the PPM system within the CMMS (IFS)
o Promote sound lubrication standards across the Department and within the Mill and challenge when standards fall below this
o Implement best practice for lubrication storage, handling and application. Work to 5S principles.
o Support Autonomous Maintenance activities through on the job training and coaching
o To always act and behave in a way compliant with all company guidelines and policies, especially those relating to values and behaviours, environmental health and safety, ethics and codes of conduct.
o To support the behaviour of working as One, sharing best practice and collaborating with colleagues outside of own sphere of business.
o To ensure full participation in the performance development review (PDR) process and maintain an up to date record of all training and development activities/programs.
Experience required:
o Understand fundamental lubrication concepts and application of these concepts, (such as Viscosity, NLGI #'s, ISO Cleanliness Codes, basic cleanliness standards).
o Understanding and experience of 5S
o Basic Computer literacy (CMMS and MS products, specifically Excel). With the capability to operate moderately complex software and web based programs for lubrication scheduling and oil analysis functions.
o Have a fundamental understanding of mechanical, hydraulic and circulating systems operation and maintenance functions.
o Qualified to operate lifting equipment (Fork Truck, Hoist, Etc.)
o Capability to perform basic mathematical functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages) for the purpose of interpreting alarms, calculating lubricant inventory and calculating re-lubrication quantity considerations
o Knowledge of contamination control as a way to improve machine performance
o Sound oral and written communication skills and good team building skills.
o Capability to work alone effectively.
o Self-motivated and self-disciplined.
o Ability to apply numerical and analytical skills to diagnostic information.
o Ability to learn through formal training and work related experiences.
o Good understanding of local safety regulations & procedures
o Knowledge and appreciation of Environmental Management
