Linux/Unix Security SSH Engineer
City of London
Rate: Very competitive market rate
Duration: 3 month contract – expected to roll for 1 year.
Start: ASAP - Sept 2016

My client, a leading security consultancy require a Linux/Unix Security Engineer with experience of SSH products or protocol

Summary of Duties:
- Serve as a subject matter expert on IT security, SSH protocol, keys and Universal SSH Key Manager (UKM)
- Develop scripts and programs to integrate Universal SSH Key Manager with external systems, and to produce various reports, and to automate daily tasks
- Manage Key Manager software installations and upgrades
- Plan highly available Key Manager architecture, and configuration
- Create architecture documentation
- Create process documents together with customers
- Create Key Operating Procedures documents for UKM
- Identify, troubleshoot and resolve Key Manager related efficiency, performance and capacity issues
- Act as a primary point of contact between customer and
- Train and mentor customer provided administrators with the Key Manager application
- Late night and weekend work will be required

Basic qualifications:
- Linux/Unix operations as a primary role, 5+ years of experience
- Bachelor degree in Information systems, Computer science, Computer Engineering, Engineering or Physical science (preferred but not essential).
- IT Security related qualification(s) is a plus

- Expert in enterprise Linux/Unix environments, preferably in financial sector
- Strong knowledge about the SSH protocol, PKI, SSL and industry standard IT security principles
- Strong experience using SSH client and SSH server
- Strong knowledge about SSH keys and how they are used, algorithms, formats
- Strong Unix shell script programming skills, perl/python is a plus
- Excellent written communication skills for technical documentation and troubleshooting
- Excellent verbal communication skills for facing customer stakeholders
- Experience using Windows Servers and Active Directory
- Basic knowledge about Oracle/PostgreSQL databases is preferable but not essential
- Strong analytical skills & proactive personality with ability to investigate and solve problems
