Job DescriptionWe have a great opportunity within a leading automotive OEM. You will be based with us in our elite R&D facility in Bedfordshire. As a Lighting Engineer your responsibilities will include developing exterior systems in line with company quality standards and high cost and timing targets.
-You'll ideally be qualified to Degree level, preferably in an automotive field
-You have good delivery focused experience, with a proven background meeting quality and time targets
-Capable using NX or a similar CAD tool as well as being able to solve engineering problems would be a benefit
-Having good presentation skills will be a plus, you will occasionally need to use Microsoft Office
-We like you to be both flexible and committed individuals to achieving our delivery targets
-We may occasional send you on foreign business trips to locations
-Strong communication skills are essential for this role as you will organise and chair supplier meetings
-Experience with technical bench-marking to cost and mass perspective also project and supplier management is a must have
-You are expected to take full responsibility for a set of components for quality and cost improvement and programme changes supporting new model and minor change activities
-You'll investigate concerns raised against any of the components, identify countermeasures and deliver into production
-You will identify opportunities to reduce the cost of components and systems
-You will complete initial layout and design and release the design
-You are a great problem solver to be able to address concern items, countermeasure proposals and negotiations with Design groups.
