Job Description

Lead Technical Consultant - Networking
Location: Based across Surrey and Berkshire Data centres with travel to customer sites. Home/Remote working will also be available.

Role Purpose:
The Lead Technical Consultant understands the customer's business, uses technical excellence to design and deliver architectures and specific solutions that add value to customer's businesses.

As technical authority, the Lead Technical Consultant is responsible for the overall technical integrity of the solution, and its conformance to agreed architectures, regulatory requirements.

You will be working closely with solutions architects, project management and other consultants to ensure a smooth transition from pre to post sales, leading small virtual teams to design and deliver complex technical solutions.

You will have experienced across multiple architecture domains including business, technical, solution, service architecture, they will act as the technical project owner and performing the role of lead technical consultant of the project/engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership -
" Be the lead architect for the delivery of a complex project/solution consisting of multiple technology disciplines for which they may not be a SME themselves
" Ensuring all services are delivered to a high quality
" Be a mentor and role model for other team members
" Ability to communicate with the customers and vendors on all levels
" The ability to work as part of a team to achieve the group and departmental standards
" Excellent interpersonal skills
" Provide technical leadership and mentoring as required
" Strong commercial and management orientation - helping to identify additional business opportunities

Technical Delivery:

" Architectural owner across the full life-cycle of a client project/engagement
" Work closely with Sales, Solution Architects, and Pre Sales to help define and shape requirements
" SME in Cisco Networking with the ability to deliver design, build, configure and document projects / engagements - Expertise in Nexus routing & switching is essential.
" CCNP as a minimum - CCIE, CCDP, CCSP etc. all desirable.
" Cisco Security skills an advantage (virtual ASA)
" Lead consultants in the design, implementation and testing of solutions, including the allocation of delivery tasks in line with project plan.
" Actively work with the PMO & Resource Management to plan, timescales, appropriate resource, and identify risks and issues
" Responsible for the timely delivery of high quality project and design documentation, continually checking on accuracy and that it meets the customer's need
