WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
As a Lead Software Engineer, you will primarily be working with the Product Team that is responsible for a suite of Command and Control software applications. The software is operational within a broad range of architectures, by a number of customers, in countries throughout the world and is used for military operations, homeland defence, crisis management and conflict resolution.

WHO DO THEY NEED?
Proven commercial experience of architecting, developing and testing complex web applications; with the preference being for Java. You will also be passionate about people, working in a multi-matrix team environment and be able to lead others.

Experience of both and front and back end development (with a bias towards front end dev) using the following technologies: Java (J2E), Spring - Spring MVC, HTML, JavaScript - experience with Dojo Toolkit, Service Oriented Architecture - including SOAP, and Restful Services, XML, JSON

You will be an Agile advocate and used to working to Agile methods.

The ideal candidate would also have experience of the following technologies/applications: Maven, Ant, Test Driven Development (TDD), Selenium, QUnit, Groovy

Desired criteria:
Experience of UK Government working practices
Understanding of developing application for use within secure environments.
