Lead Installation Engineer

The Lead AV Installation Engineer will take on ownership responsibility for the project installation, and the supervision of the installation team, ensuring all technical liaison, drawings, schematics and project documentation is completed and agreed by the project stakeholders.

Job Description

Job Title: Lead AV Installation Engineer
Salary: £30,000-£35,000 + benefits
Location: Chessington

The Lead AV Installation Engineer will take on ownership responsibility for the project installation, and the supervision of the installation team, ensuring all technical liaison, drawings, schematics and project documentation is completed and agreed by the project stakeholders.

The Lead AV Installation Engineer has ultimate responsibility for the technical functionality of the system and ensuring that the project is delivered to scope, in addition the Lead AV Installation engineer may manage certain projects in their entirety to include installation, commissioning and project management.

The Lead AV Installation Engineer will also be expected to act as a Commissioning Engineer in some cases.

Main Responsibilities
" Assume ownership of project installation
" Complete on-site installation activities
" Complete commissioning of installations where control and commissioning have not been sold
" Complete relevant commissioning documentation
" Configuration of video conference codecs
" Configuration of relevant audio hardware and settings
" In conjunction with PMO ensure projects are resourced correctly
" Provide coordination with other trades
" Coordinate necessary CAD drawings
" Perform field install/trouble shooting, control system programming and engineering support as needed
" Serve as customer liaison in absence of Project Manager
" Fault finding systems and resolve issues
" Provide user-training to end client
" Complete system hand over to clients receiving sign off and completion of final testing in accordance with test plans

Desired skills and experience

" An up-to-date understanding of the AV marketplace, technologies and emerging trends
" Current technical knowledge of AV & VC equipment
" Experience of project technical oversight incorporating systems from the following areas:
Videoconferencing (Cisco, Polycom, Starleaf)
Audio DSP
Polycom SoundStructure
Analogue and digital audio mixing console
Front and rear projection
Video wall set up
TV distribution and IPTV systems
Control systems

" 3 years' minimum experience installing, commissioning or supporting complex AV systems
" CTS qualifications an advantage, but not essential.
" CSCS is required but could be completed upon appointment.
" Polycom PCVE advantageous
" Bi-Amp desirable
" Crestron Toolbox and 101 desirable
