Position Description:
Lead Engineer - PTSE Cooling systems The Cooling Systems team is based at Whitley and is part of the Power Train Systems Engineering group within Powertrain Engineering. The primary purpose of the group is to design Cooling Systems and manage the delivery of all Jaguar and Land Rover programs that have Cooling System content.

Skills Required:
1. Knowledge of Cooling Systems, Self-motivated, high achiever.
2. Knowledge of engineering release process (GPDS / PCDS /PCS).

Experience Required:
1. Responsible for the delivery of Heat Exchangers and Charge Air Coolers for all programmes.
2. Liaise with vehicle programme teams to agree system targets (quality, function, cost, weight) and define system content.
3. Work with Suppliers and CAD team to manage delivery of Heat Exchangers on time, to agreed targets and within budget (Piece, Tooling and D&D).
4. Lead the quality planning activities including component FMEA and Design Rules and Standards, visit supplier sites as required.
5. Ensure compliance with all Product Creation System timing (PCS), Design Rules and APQP requirements.
6. Drive Module Business Team Technical Meetings to resolve issues in the delivery of Heat Exchangers.
7. Manage the resolution of technical issues through the AIMs system. Support System Strategy and project target conflicts to resolution.
8. Lead the Validation Plan and ensure it meets appropriate programme gateways and monitor progress against the plan.
9. Develop and manage Component Timing Plans to ensure programme milestones are met. Support for the various builds throughout the delivery of the programme.
10. Lead the release activities required to support component maturation up to Work with Advance Product Creation team, Vehicle Packaging and Technical Specialist to develop feasible design assumptions for future Heat Exchangers. Define standards and drive technical excellence to be best in class.

Experience Preferred:
Self-motivated and adaptable to changing demands, this role interfaces with many other COC's and suppliers and will required a person who is highly driven with clear goals Sound understanding of the Design and Development Process, this lead role will call upon a good engineering knowledge to include design for assembly, fit and function and a good understanding of GD&T. Working knowledge of GPDS /PCS. Able to demonstrate a working knowledge of Project Management and a strong disciplined approach to engineering delivery. Able to demonstrate ability to plan and deliver components or systems from concept to production. Able to demonstrate experience of managing suppliers. Good working knowledge of IT systems, WERS, eFDVS, AIMS, RMDV2. Current Driving Licence.

Additional Information:
Powertrain experience of pressure charged engine systems. CFD experience or awareness of Knowledge of PTSE Component/System design (including plastics ) would be beneficial.) Product Development experience and/or awareness. Experience and working knowledge of FMA processes. Able to demonstrate ability to plan and deliver components or systems from concept to production.
