Lead Control Systems Engineer

As directed by the Engineering Manager, assist or conduct various engineering tasks involved in the design or development of new products, whilst adhering to company standards, responsibilities policies, and procedures. The incumbent must also work independently to oversee the maintenance, review and upgrade existing equipment whilst providing training and leadership to employees in this process.

Job Description

Our client has an urgent requirement for a Lead Automation Engineer for Aberdeenshire. This is a permanent position

Purpose:

As directed by the Engineering Manager, assist or conduct various engineering tasks involved in the design or development of new products, whilst adhering to company standards, responsibilities policies, and procedures. The incumbent must also work independently to oversee the maintenance, review and upgrade existing equipment whilst providing training and leadership to employees in this process.

Key Responsibilities:

" Assist or conduct design and engineering tasks involved in the concept, research design and/or development of new products
" Works independently to conduct problem studies leading to recommendations for upgrading/improving existing equipment in field or lab
" Works independently to perform product testing functions in a test facility and/or field locations
" Stay abreast of manufacturing capabilities in order to assist with change
" Maintain a working knowledge of industry related codes and standards
" Perform other assignments as directed
" Undertake all duties in a safe and efficient manner, promoting safe working practices, complying with all company policies including but not limited to the Company Code of Conduct and OSHA Safety rules

Accountabilities:

" Supervise and mentor Controls Team
" Lead employees to meet/exceed goals in developing technology, supporting existing products and producing technical documentation
" Provides technical training and professional development of others

COMPETENCE REQUIREMENTS
Education / Qualifications:
" Significant experience within Engineering discipline
" Preferred Bachelor's or Associate Degree

Experience:
" Advanced understanding of all phases of field operating and equipment with particular attention to the individuals' field of expertise
" Advanced knowledge of engineering standards including codes and regulations affecting design development

Key Skills:
" Maintain skill in operating a personal computer, including word processing, spreadsheet, database and computer-aided-design software; calculator; phone, copy and fax machine
" Maintain proficiency in the individuals' field of expertise through the study of related literature and of new concepts and/or equipment developed by others
" Ability to work under extreme pressure with strict deadlines
" Excellent motivational, organisational and problem solving skills
" Attend industry-sponsored functions to gain knowledge of technological advancements and requirements
" Ability to communicate with internal and external customers in a professional manner
