Purpose of the Job

This role is responsible for assisting the Approvals & Acceptance Manager with organising the acceptance of trains through their progression to delivery, confirming compliance of individual trains and verification that acceptance quality requirements have been achieved in line with the procurement contract.

Principal Accountabilities

Work as part of a small team based in London, but with regular visits to the Bombardier Derby factory and Melton Mowbray test site
Influence supplier conduct and behaviour in the areas of Quality Assurance to ensure acceptable vehicle build quality.
Adopt a ¡§hands on¡¨ approach to the inspection, surveillance and verification activity on individual vehicles and completed trains.
Participate with the formal progressive Provisional Acceptance Certificate (PAC) compilation prior to Acceptance, producing appropriate records and key performance indicators.
Assist the Assurance & Acceptance Manager to achieve project deliverables in accordance with project quality plans and related documentation.
Work alongside Crossrail¡¦s Product Introduction teams post despatch ensuring that any quality related issues are fed-back and suitably addressed.
Witness Bombardier¡¦s internal processes and progress, escalating any issues to the Senior Project Manager Rolling Stock where applicable.
Work alongside Crossrail¡¦s Testing & Commissioning teams ensuring that any quality related issues are fed-back and suitably addressed.
Highlight any specific Risk and Safety concerns and be actively involved in providing mitigating solutions.

Main challenges of the job

Ensuring that the team and rolling stock manufacturer agree acceptable quality and approvals standards prior to delivery, and that these are demonstrably achieved and documented.
Ensuring that consistency of requirements is maintained by the team across all worksites, and that any post-despatch quality issues are addressed in a controlled manner.
To communicate and report progress in a concise, timely and accurate manner, keeping the Senior Project Manager well informed.
To maintain a high level of flexibility when dealing with changing requirements.
To carefully manage different teams and stakeholders and appropriately handle information of various sensitivities.
To identify issues and offer solutions that may be practically implemented within the Crossrail environment.
