My client, a leading supplier of healthcare equipment, is seeking a Health and Safety Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and coordinating responses to OHSAS18001 certification and global Health & Safety Regulations in a Sales and Service environment.

Responsibilities:
- Work with global and local H&S network members to deploy an effective internal and external audit programme and maintain those processes and systems necessary to maintain our OHSAS 18001 certification.
- Liaise with BSi regarding the external certification audit of our activities and the coordination of improvement actions associated with audit findings.
- Work with global and local H&S network members to deploy an effective vigilance programme for all operational activities and roles.
- Liaise with the Health and Safety Executive to ensure we meet applicable management and reporting responsibilities
- Work with internal and external partners to enhance the wellbeing of employees beyond that required by H&S legislation.
- Work with other Local Quality and Technology team members to raise the awareness and engagement of staff in pursuit of our ‘ZERO Harm’ programme.

Requirements:
- Proven ability gained within a Health and Safety environment
- Detailed understanding of OHSAS18001 and a track record in implementing and managing an OHSAS18001 certified management system in a medical device environment
- Understanding of those H&S regulations that apply to the operations of a diagnostic device sales and service provider.
- Ability to define and deploy cohesive training programmes designed to support the establishment of a personal and organisational wide Zero Harm culture
- Understanding of product safety principles and the operation of I-Field Medical Device Vigilence systems and ability to identify analyse and resolve H&S risks.
