We are hiring a Head of Service Transition to support a major Government programme from our location in Central London.

This is a contract position for 6 months.

My client is developing its Information and Communications Technology (ICT) presence in the UK. It has ambitions to bid for, win and execute a number of major UK Government ICT programmes. As part of this, they are currently executing a major Civil Government service provider ICT programme, a key element of this programme involves the introduction of and transition to a Service Integration and Management (SIAM) function. This function will be responsible for the Service Management of the ICT estate for a major Civil Government Department.

Reporting into the Service Director, the Head of Service Transition is held accountable for the Service Management portion of project delivery, implementing required Processes and Procedures and execution.

Providing oversight, management and assurance of the Service, Validation & Testing, Acceptance into Service, Request for Service Management (Non-Standard RFS), IT Service Continuity, Availability and Capacity and Service Transition and Planning processes and procedures.

Key Responsibilities include:
" Oversee Transition activities including Initiation, Design, Planning, Build &Test Acceptance into Service and Deployment
" Oversee ITSCM and Availability & Capacity processes to ensure contractual requirements are being met at a high standard
" Ensures coordination of activities for new services across all departments
" Identifies gaps in the end to end Service Management solution
" Coordinates and provides training to Suppliers and staff on processes and procedures
" Oversees all compliance and assurance activities for Transition into Service
" Ensures adequate resources are available, as needed, for scheduling as part of Service Readiness
" Implement Legacy processes into new contract

Stakeholder Management:
" Acts as the primary interface to senior customer and stakeholders for all Service Transition activities
" Manages all communications Service Delivery organisation about new projects and services
" Chair and participate in operational governance meetings

PROFILE

Essential skills and experience:
" Demonstrated experience in delivering complex ICT Service management programs including Transition Programme Management
" Strong experience of IT Service Transition in a multi-supplier environment
" ITIL v3 Foundation (minimal)
" Leadership experience
" Exceptional initiative in developing and improving systems and procedures
" Ability to drive remedial action and service improvement across all levels of the organisation
