Job DescriptionHead of Production
To direct the performance of the Production facility in line with business strategy and objectives. To ensure a culture of continuous improvement and coach, lead and manage employees to embrace never-ending improvement in safety, productivity, quality, cost and delivery
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
To manage the production side of the business including new and overhaul engine and part assembly, electrical, fabrication, test, machining, paint, Planning, Stores, Production Engineering and facilities. To manage the three reports for the three different value streams ¡V New engine build, Primeserv Business and Workshop services. To ensure Parts, Turbo and new engines and overhauls are delivered to customer requirements. To introduce Lean Techniques to improve the efficiency & housekeeping of the facility. To monitor, manage and control Manufacturing costs and Workshop costs to ensure only suitable overtime is booked and to ensure parts are only replaced when actually needed. Forecast and Budgeting Forecast, budget and manage operating utilisation(capacity planning) in line with sales requirements. Ensure accurate stock records. Forecast, budget, re-forecast and manage stock.
Research and Implement Machinery and Systems To research and implement improvements to workshop, structure, operational and management systems. To Review and integrate new processes, operations and equipment in order to expand the business. Site and Machinery Responsible for management, maintenance and repair of the workshop and all machinery and equipment within it. To Research and recommend equipment and capital expenditure with justification.
Quality and Health and Safety Ensure consistent and satisfactory product quality. Ensure implementation and evolution of safety procedures and compliance with legal requirements (supported by outside resources)
Leadership Ensure a success driven culture and to recruit, manage, train, develop and motivate team of up to 55 people in Workshop and support functions.
Strategy and Goal Setting To work as part of the site senior management team to develop and implement strategy set and achieve demanding goals. To report on progress against KPI¡¦S. Risk identification, mitigation and contingency planning.
To deliver on time for both external and internal customers requirements for new build and overhaul.
To manage a multi disciplined team within production ¡V engine build, engine overhaul, turbo overhaul, parts overhaul, machining, fabrication, electrical and engine test.
