The opportunity will allow you to work within the UK automotive industry that is known best for premium and sports cars. EDS ENGINEER

Location: MK43 - Cranfield, Bedfordshire
Rate: £26/h & £39/h overtime rate

An opportunity has arisen within a leading automotive client, based out of their Cranfield based Technical Centre. The role of EDS Engineer is responsible for delivery of the design & development of electrical and electronic systems.

Candidate Requirements:
-Have relevant experience in automotive electrical and electronic development, completing a minimum of one vehicle development, or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience
-Understand electrical theory and the operation of vehicle electrical systems
-Electrical system circuit design experience
-Harness layout knowledge
-Application experience (design & issue of parts within OEM release/BOM system to meet vehicle specifications)
-Strong project management skills
-Have good communication skills
-Be able to travel abroad, typically a few days to 2 weeks, but on rare occasions could be longer
-Competent with PC applications. MS office etc
-Self motivating and self managing. Pro-active. Positive. Energetic personality and flexible regarding working practice and working hours
-Knowledge of 3D CAD tools
-Familiarity with vehicle electrical architecture or other similar automotive architecture
-Knowledge of harness, plastic part & metal bracket manufacture
-Ability to read electrical schematics and harness drawings
-Automotive electrical system component familiarity.

Responsibilities:
-Development of vehicle harnesses and other electrical components to required design/test standards.
-Managing Tier 1 suppliers to deliver products to QCT. (Quality, Cost, Timing)
-Managing in house and supplier validation of components
-Countermeasure determination with Test groups.
-Status reporting to management
