Engineering Programme Manager

Manages a number of teams that are directly responsible for providing all design activities that allow the development to design wire harness distribution systems in line with the client and the customer

Job Description

Job Title: Engineering Programme Manager
Salary - £60k + Car Allowance

Location: Coventry

- Design verification of EDS (DVP)
- Optimum complexity management
- Design of EDS architecture
- Design of circuits and schematics
- Release activities (WERS)
-Management of off-shore engineering support centre
- Change management process
- Processing RFQs
- Design tool development and integration
-TS16949 compliance
-Delivery of EDS design projects

- Provide guidance and direction to programme engineering staff
-Provide work assignments and train staff for progression into higher level positions / experience
- Assess programme engineering staff performance, establish individual goals and interview new candidates as required
- Observe and re-coordinate internal communication within the department

Ensure programme engineering objectives are met and customer/supplier needs are fulfilled
- Ensure that manpower, materials needs are available to successfully complete an engineering project
- Follow the department¡¦s TS16949 procedures and instructions
- Overview the effectiveness

- Communicate with customers or suppliers (inside and outside) on management level for information exchange
- Ensure that customer satisfaction, both internal and external, is maintained
- Create and deliver presentations to internal and external customers as required

Education & Qualifications
- Engineering degree or equivalent would you be ideal
- EDS Engineering provenability
Technical Knowledge (and Skills)
- Electrical and mechanical engineering
- Knowledge of wiring harness, plastic and metal component production processes Tooling knowledge
- Wiring harness and 3D CAD
- Electrical schematics
- Test and evaluation methods
- Cost control awareness
- Commercial and programme management
- Quality management systems and techniques
- Good PC skills

- Able to work in a culturally diverse environment

Language skills
- Fluent in English
- Other European languages and Japanese would be an advantage

Legally able to work in the UK.
- Full Driving Licence and valid Passport
- Able to undertake Domestic and International travel with overnight stays away from home, sometimes at short notice
- Smart appearance and a friendly manner are expected for this position.
- As the department focuses on continuous improvement, the post-holder must also be willing to develop themselves
