Senior Engine Test Technician - Fuels & Lubricants

This is an exciting opportunity for a proven Engine Test Technician to join a consultancy based onsite at their head office. The client offers engineering solutions to the automotive market and are looking to increase their workforce due to continued success. As a Senior Technician there won't be two days the same. Within their engines facility you will be responsible for managing multiple engine test beds simultaneously in regards to validation, durability, calibration and development of customer engine programmes.

This will include installing the engine within the test cell, fabricating brackets, plugging the engine in to the cell, performing pre-test checks, running the test, collating and validating the test data, liaising with other technicians and test engineers, performing any engine service tasks and potentially carry out further tests on inconclusive results with the aim of achieving the customers' targets on their CEC fuel and additive tests.

Ideally, you will be currently working as a validation/calibration technician within a garage/test environment within either the Automotive/Aerospace/Off-highway/Power Generation arenas.

'The ideal candidate';

- Minimum City & Guilds in Automotive/Mechanical Engineering or time served as an apprentice.
- Full understanding of Gasoline/Diesel engines.
- Knowledge and usage of testbed hardware/software.
- Knowledge and usage of test instruments such as thermocouples and pressure transducers.
- Knowledge and usage of engine calibration tools such as CANape or Inca.
- Experience of prototype building and engine stripping.

This role would ideally suit a technician with engine test experience who is looking to learn and join a larger team of 14 other technicians. The best candidate will be a team player who is looking to build upon their existing knowledge and someone with a true interest in engines/mechanical engineering. The team never leave anyone behind and ensure jobs are always performed to the best of their ability.
