Development Engineer - Gasoline Engines
Commutable from; Northampton, Milton Keynes, Bedford, Peterborough, Rugby, Daventry.
Salary; £30,000 - £50,000 + benefits (depending on experience)

An opportunity has arisen for development engineers to work with one of the world's leading engine manufacturers. The client are known for their high performance engines all over the world whether it be gasoline, diesel or dual-fuelled engines.

As a development engineer, you will be responsible for getting involved with a number of different areas within the gasoline engines team (and may even get the opportunity to work on some diesel engine programmes too...). The role is a mixed one. On one hand there could be some 1-D simulation work using GT Power or Ricardo Wave (as every project needs that these people these days), on the other hand there will be a large amount of running engines on the test cell, doing performance and functional testing, calibration and emissions work. If you have the skills, there could be some design work thrown in there too. The client like to have flexible people as engine projects could be OE based, racing or aerospace.

Ideally, you will currently be working with an OEM, tier 1 or consultancy and be responsible for wearing many hats on gasoline development programmes. You won't be afraid to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty either!

Skills/Knowledge;

- A proven background within the engine development field working on gasoline or diesel programmes.
- An exposure to performance and emissions testing.
- Knowledge or usage of 1D simulation tools either GT Power, Ricardo Wave or similar.
- A strong knowledge of engine systems, sub-systems and components.
- Exposure to dyno based engine testing would also put you at a distinct advantage.
- A strong sense of humour is a must.
