Emissions Test Engineer - Real Driving Emissions (RDE)

The emissions sector is hugely busy at the moment since the introduction of a piece of legislation stating that a given percentage of emissions testing must be performed out on the public highways. With that in mind, a growing engineering consultancy are looking for a number of heads to fill out their new emissions testing facility at their home in Nuneaton. It's an exciting time for the client who have massive strategic plans for growth and expansion over the next 3-5 years.

The Vehicle Emissions team are responsible for the delivery of chassis dynamometer based and road based testing activities for their customers. The team support the development and certification testing of customer vehicles, against global exhaust emissions standards in the laboratory and on the road for Real Driving Emission (RDE) standards. Their existing ambient chassis dynamometer facility and their new climatic chassis dynamometer facility provide a full suite of capabilities to meet customer and legislative demands, together with a growing capacity of Portable Emission Measurement Systems for RDE development and certification test activities.

Ideally, you will be currently working within an automotive vehicle environment delivering testing programmes to cost, time and quality standards. You will ideally be working in a vehicle emissions facility and performing either test or calibration work. You may also possess driving licenses for a range of vehicle types.


+ Ideally degree qualified in an engineering discipline, either mechanical, automotive, motorsport or similar.
+ Be able to work and carry out tests unsupervised.
+ A good team ethic and be able to work within a team environment.
+ Licensed to drive a number of different vehicle types to set routes and driving styles.
+ A strong background in the maintenance and calibration of data logging equipment, sensors and instrumentation.
+ Exposure to emissions testing will of course put you at a distinct advantage.

A willingness to be flexible and sometimes work shifts/overtime may be required.
