Are you a an Experienced Test Engineer who would be interested in joining a Small Repair team undertaking Bench-based Fault Finding and repair of Signalling equipment for the Rail Industry? This is a 6-9 month contract with the possibility of extension, alternatively a permanent role might also be on offer if this is of interest to you?

Electronics Test & Repair Engineer
Contract £NEG
(Permanent considered) £28,000

Experience
" 3-5 years minimum experience in a Production or Service Electronics Test & Repair role
" Comfortable with Older processors, test systems and Schematic Fault tracing
" Processors from the early eighties such as 6802, EEPROM programming etc
" Predominantly PTH rather than SMT technologies

Qualifications
" C&G, ONC, HNC or Degree with relevant experience such as TV repair or Repair of Industrial or similar robust Electronics equipment for Military, Aviation, Shipping, Radar or Transportation etc.
Responsibilities
" Working independently and in coordination with the Supervisors and Colleagues
" Undertake ATE & Automated Functional tests leading to Environmental chamber testing.
Skills and Competency's
" Rework of Conventional PTH components (Axial, Radial and DIP devices)
" Soldering and de-soldering skills ideally to EN610 or related Solder assembly standards
" Fault identification and Signal tracing using Multimeters through to Oscilloscopes
" Knowledge of Bed Of Nails ATE Equipment like Marconi would be useful.
" Articulate (to understand and communicate) Technical root causes
" Comfortable with Older DOS based systems and Custom Functional Test Equipment
