Design Analyst - FEA

Our family run international client is looking for a Design Analyst to join their growing team on a permanent basis at their hear office in Weybridge, Surrey.

Job Description

Title - Design Analyst - FEA
Location - Weybridge
Salary - £30,000 - £45,000 depending on background

Specific Responsibilities

" Support the Senior Design Analyst in the analysis and simulation activities of the Company.
" Modelling, analysis and simulation using LS-DYNA of both structural and blast scenarios. Experience of an alternative explicit finite element package (such as ANSYS AUTODYN) could be acceptable.
" Preparation of reports demonstrating and summarising product performance.
" Support the Design Engineer with the engineering to appropriate product targets, eg cost, weight, strength, etc.
" Support the Design Engineer with the appropriate material selection.
" Assist in the generation of, and deliver to, project timing.
" Work in accordance to ISO9000 procedures.
" Any other duties as reasonably requested by the Senior Design Analyst.

Person Specification

" IMECHE Accredited Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent.
" Chartered engineer or working towards chartered engineer status (preferred).

" Automotive/Defence engineering environments.
" Explicit finite element technologies.
" Finite element model pre-processing, e.g. meshing, model definition.
" Constitutive material modelling.
" Design/manufacturing techniques for low/medium volume production.
" Concept creation and development.
" Knowledge of workshop theory and practice.
" Eligible for UK Security Clearance to minimum SC level (SC).
" Strong interest in finite element tools and methodologies and working within an analytical role.
" Customer focused - displays pro-active approach to meeting both internal and external customer needs.
" Results-focused - strong desire to achieve results and works hard to reach goals and targets. Seeks to achieve results which enhance business success.
" Flexibility - displays versatility and adaptability. Identifies need for change, develops new ideas, encourages and supports innovation.
