WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
As a Database Administrator, you will be a key member of the DBA team; providing guidance and coaching for DBA resources, you will lead by example, supporting BAU activity and aid project teams in the delivery of database environments.
The successful applicant will:
* Implement and maintain smooth operation and physical design of large scale databases following best practice.
* Design and implement solutions to support availability Objectives.
* Design and implement backup and recovery solutions to support RPO and RTO Objectives.
* Have a good awareness of security and integrity controls, with the ability to harden environments to a desired standard.
* Planning and execution of data migration activity
WHO DO THEY NEED?
A dynamic individual with strong experience in MS SQL Server administration, with a passion for learning is required in Coventry. You will be self-motivated and able to multi-task in line with agile teams and customer SLA's. You must be comfortable speaking at a technical level to teams and have strong written and verbal communication skills.
You will have:
" Excellent knowledge on MS SQL Server 2012+ Administration
" Good Knowledge on SQL Server infrastructure design and implementation
" Good Experience with SQL Server database development and scripting
" Good knowledge and skills on Query performance tuning
" General knowledge of Windows Server environments
It would also be beneficial if you had:
" Knowledge of alternative platforms such as Oracle, MongoDB, NOSQL
" Experience with PowerShell Scripting
" Experience with SQL Server AlwaysOn Availability Groups
" Experience with SQL Server Cloud Service such as Azure and AWS
" Knowledge of SQL Server BI such as SSIS, SSRS and SSAS
" Experience in Agile team development
" Experience with T-SQL
" Experience in Team Leadership
