My client are currently looking for 2 Technical Insight Analysts to join their Smart Technology Operations team.

The idea candidate will have development skills or a Data Scientist background.

This exciting role will be key to supporting the future of Smart Technologies within the Utilities industry, helping my client to transform their relationship with their customers.

You will be responsible for the analysis and production of insight and analytics from Smart Data to identify areas of the service that require action and further development and to inform the business of improvements to Smart Service performance.

The Role
- We are looking for a self-motivated individual, capable of understanding complex technical environments and technologies used to create, maintain, and operate reporting and analysis and data science functions for our Smart Technology Services.
- The candidate will be a key enabler of knowledge sharing via a core analysis and reporting function for Smart.
- Regularly engage with key senior stakeholders and sponsors to ensure a quality/timely service is being delivered which accurately informs our business decisions
- Undertake collection and processing of data to support insight and data science projects
- Analysis of the Smart Metering Services data
- Identify opportunities, formation of hypothesis and the undertaking of analytics and data science
- Undertaking of research and investigations aligned to technology services
- Support major incidents and technical trials with appropriate insight
- Analysis of source systems to identify causes of inconsistent data trends
- Initiating actions to fix data issues within the service
- Presentation of the produced reports to senior stakeholders
- Gathering of requirements for Metric reporting from stakeholders
- Proactively suggesting changes and solutions to assist better information flow to the wider business
- Cross-referencing data to give confidence and potentially generate new insights into our operations

The Person
- Excellent analytical and trend analysis skills
- Appreciation of Data Science, skills, approach and tools
- Excellent problem analysis and solving skills
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Confident and credible operator
- Able to motivate self, and operate with little direction
- Proactive and able to form own opinions on the issue in hand
- Resourceful - utilise all tools, expertise and knowledge bases to investigate and resolve problems
- A good technical knowledge of industry standard reporting tool(s)
- Able to work on large data sets
- Knowledge of statistics and statistical models desirable
- Able to undertake data visualisation and articulate actionable insight
- Experience of SQL, SQL Developer and Management Studio is essential
- Relational Database experience of Oracle and/or MS SQL Server
- Understanding of distributed programming and distributed frameworks, such as Hadoop, R, and Spark desirable
- Experience of the Spark, Python, R is desirable
- Excellent MS Office (MS Excel, MS Word, MS Access) is required
- Knowledge of Office VBA is desirable but not essential
