Customer Quality Engineer - Engine Components
Commutable from; Telford, Birmingham, Stafford, Kidderminster, Shrewsbury, Market Drayton, Wolverhampton.
Salary from; £30,000 - £40,000 + Benefits

This particular client are a major player in the engines field and can happily say that their components and systems are in every second engine out in the industry. That, combined with a strong order book for the next 3 years has resulted in huge amounts of growth across all of their UK sites. To be the best, you have to make sure that your products are innovative, market leading, competitively priced and possess a highly technical advantage.

As a customer quality engineer, you will ultimately be responsible for ensuring that the company's products are aligned to customers requirements and stringent quality standards- ensuring a 'right first time' ethos. To do this, you will be conducting customer improvement activities and concern analysis; reducing risk through product FMEA reviews; provide support to the rest of the plant should any complaints arise; be prepared to travel to customer sites in the UK and abroad; manage customer reviews and scorecards; maintain documentation and certification on the company's online collaborative tools; provide on-going updates and communication with the customer/internal stakeholders throughout; manage the concerns log; complete warranty analysis, corrective and preventative actions and reporting to customer; take the lead on continuous improvement/root cause projects

Ideally, you will either be working as a customer quality engineer, supplier quality engineer, applications engineer or similar within an engines/component OEM or component supplier. You will have a good overall understanding of the wider engine system and have a keen eye for detail when it comes to quality, getting things 'right first time' and delivering an exceptional customer experience.


- Ideally degree qualified in an engineering discipline, either mechanical, automotive or similar.
- Previous background within a Tier one supplier working closely with customers would put you at a distinct advantage.
- Knowledge of quality systems and portal databases.
- Strong familiarity with engineering processes such as FMEA, 8D, Kaizen, Continuous Improvement, RCA Root Cause Analysis.
- Full UK Driving licence
- A knowledge of complex plastic injection moulding would put you at a distinct advantage.
- Knowledge of ISO 14001 & TS16949 quality standards.
