Our client is looking to take on a Controls Engineer to join their team at their site in Waterlooville, Hampshire.

Job Description

Controls Engineer
Location - Hampshire
£30 - £35k


Our client has a variety of international clients and provides bespoke, in-house design, prototype and equipment manufacturing service. Installations are worldwide and they provide remote and on site support and development services for equipment, controls and processes.


This Engineer will be involved from the inception of the project, contributing to the product specification, conceptual design, manufacturing, testing and customer acceptance.

Utilising resources within the business, responsible for the production of design solutions based around customer requirements:

Design of electrical circuits for control systems
Design & writing of PLC and HMI control systems software
Construction and prototyping of designed systems
Producing required documentation - (functional design specifications, manuals, etc.)
Testing and acceptance with customers and support for installed products and systems
Commissioning of systems on location and training for the system operation and maintenance

Key Skills

Apprentice/City & Guilds/NVQ/degree qualified or relevant Industry experience.
Ability to interact with Staff & Customers at all levels and with competent English language skills.
Current driving licence and the ability to travel worldwide.
Understanding of safety requirements associated with electrical installations.
Experience of Siemens PLC and HMI design software

Experience of AutoCAD design package - i.e. Electrical Designer
Fully conversant with IEE wiring regulations

This Engineer will have the ability to manage multiple projects, and a willingness to tackle diverse tasks; to communicate with, supervise and direct members of staff across the business.
