My client are looking to hire a Cloud Infrastructure Architect with extensive Azure experience (knowledge of AWS a bonus) to work within a fast-moving, agile group who interacts with and supports several strategic projects.

The ideal individual will be a self-starter with a blend of development and traditional infrastructure skills, strong understanding of all Core Azure services & APIs and focus on Automation.

They will need to demonstrate previous experience in assisting an Enterprise organisation adopt and embrace Cloud Services, and have the ability to adopt the right approach and make the right (evolutionary and revolutionary) recommendations to the IT Services offering and BAU Support changes, and drive their implementations.

This role will be responsible for the Technical Solution Design, Hands-On Implementation and Operationalisation of standardised Azure environment and Service offering for wider consumption within the business.

Key Responsibilities:
- Translate and Facilitate Requirements gathering, translating and prioritisation
- Recommending design options, development of Solution Designs, build of reusable Design Patterns, Reference Models
- From the ground up, design and implement Enterprise scale Azure Environments and Standardised IaaS and Paas services with emphasis on security and coexistence with other hosting platforms
- Input into defining the Platform Capability Roadmap, and deliver upon it through a structured iterative approach of continuous platform evolution
- Develop and deliver Azure self-service portals by means of automation/orchestration tools and open source technologies to enable consumption of standardised Cloud Services across the enterprise.
-Support and maintain Azure based capabilities and services for Public and Internal facing services, across dev/test/pre-prod and Live environments
- Document best practice guidance and facilitate service transitioning to the operations teams.
- Setting and documenting appropriate development and technical standards and ensuring they are followed and communicated.
- Be a champion of Azure, Configuration Management, Automation and Versioning of various specific templates and use cases.

Skills and Experience:
- Strong knowledge of architecting the 'traditional' infrastructure layers and Data Centre technologies: Network, compute and storage systems and virtualisation experience
-Experienced with stateless server setup and management, scaling, hardening and frequent software deployment on Azure
- Current knowledge of Azure & AWS services offering and competing IaaS and PaaS vendors and Hybrid Cloud integration
- Broad LAN/WAN and Network Security knowledge (IPS, IDS, VLANs, subnets, DNS, DHCP, Firewalls, Routing, ACLs and VPN's, MPLS, Express Route etc)
- Extensive experience with Azure AD, VMs, Azure Storage, Directory Integration via ADFS (or FIM), Barracuda FW, Azure Scale and Availability Sets for HA, Geo-Replication, Custom VHDs, SQL DB, Web Roles etc
- Interaction with Azure through APIs and software development approaches
- Strong Automation/Orchestration and Config Management (ie Azure Automation, SCOM, Puppet, Chef, Tivoli, Cisco UCS Director or similar)
- Deep knowledge of PowerShell
