Chief Engineer - Diesel Calibration

Job Description

We have a fantastic opportunity within a global consultancy, based with in our Shoreham Technical Centre facility. You will be responsible for leading edge development programmes. Our client list includes the world's major transportation Original Equipment Manufacturers, supply chain organisations, energy companies , financial institutions and governments.

Your requirements:
-You will have completed an appropriate degree, preferably engineering related
-Proven experience in diesel engine calibration development, ideally within an OEM, Tier 1 supplier or a similar consultancy
-A good working knowledge of application tools and EMS strategies is critical to the role
-Significant experience of base engine calibration
-Knowledge of engine emissions control
-Significant experience within exhaust aftertreatment characterisation and calibration (LNT, SCR and DPF)
-A working knowledge of engine in vehicle calibration (emissions, torque structure & drivability and climatic development)
-Good knowledge of OBD legislation and homologation processes
-Proficient in base engine performance and emissions hardware development would be preferable
-Great experience within programme planning and team leadership
-Proven background in customer liason activities and project reviews
-In addition to the above, excellent communication skills are required as this position will be significantly customer facing. You will be expected to liaise with customers on a regular basis and present the technical status of our projects.

Your responsibilities:
-Development of base engine calibration
-Vehicle calibration for emissions, drivability and OBD
-Engine after treatment development & calibration
-Turnkey calibration programme delivery
-A certain amount of business travel can be expected including customer meetings occasional on-site development support and climatic testing trips.
