Position Description:

Chassis Engineering is responsible for the design and release of a number of key vehicle systems, Suspension Systems Architecture (SSA), Suspension System Tuning (SST), Braking, Steering Wheels and Tyres (SWAT) and Chassis Systems Integration. Within Suspension Systems Architecture, Compliant Mounting Systems (CMS) teams are responsible for design and development across all Platforms of the following: Engine Mounts, Transmission Mounts, Mount Vacuum Systems, Suspension Bushes, Frame Bushes, Absorbers and Powertrain Unit Dampers. This specific role has focused responsibility for the exciting area of Pre-PS/PSC concept creation and deployment through Forward Model Architecture to core delivery for the Compliant Mounting System. This includes aligning Programme content to Concept Ready Technologies, seeking and realising opportunities to reduce weight, cost and complexity within Platform Architecture in APC, working with Technical Specialists to define future technology strategy and leading development of these technologies through to Implementation Readiness.

Skills Required:
Engineering related degree Automotive Experience PC Skills

Experience Preferred:
Previous OEM or Automotive Tier 1 experience would be an advantage

Key Responsibilities: Work with the Technical Specialist and Subject Matter Experts to define future technology Strategy and lead development and implementation of these Technologies. Progression of these Technologies through Concept and Implementation Readiness. Seek and realise opportunities to reduce weight, cost and complexity within Platform Architecture. Drive the design of components that meet or exceed performance targets and adhere to Departmental standards and specifications. Ensure robust handover of APC projects to component engineers @PS/PSC, where engineering content, targets and attributes are aligned and Pre-PS DVP is complete. Effective planning and delivery of concepts, detail design, durability and validation. Supplier discussions and communications. Develop new processes and techniques to drive increased efficiency and robustness into the delivery process. Contribute to departmental standards, team skills growth and Leadership Framework C grade for an experienced hire. May consider outstanding graduate hire at B grade/graduate equivalent.
