Position Description:
Brakes Quality Team develop and implement technical solutions to address post launch quality issues for all vehicles. The role covers the analysis of customer data and investigation of the issue, designing, developing and validating the potential solutions, and releasing and implementing the change into production and service. The ability to work quickly (and accurately) is important to enable these changes need to be implemented in very short timescales The role has the responsibility for the full delivery of multiple or single projects as above. The role covers the definition, analysis, resolution, testing and the releasing of product and process changes. In this task the individual will work closely with the other Brakes Engineering teams, Plant Vehicle Team (PVT), Manufacturing, Service and Suppliers to: Identify and define Brakes, Controls and SCS quality problems using AWS,,PAWS, JD Powers and other customer and technical sources and analysis Conduct brake refinement problem definition, testing and analysis. For agreed issues, lead the problem analysis and identification of potential solutions .For the preferred solutions lead the design / process change introduction and any associated testing and validation. In doing this the Project Leader will need to work with release departments, component suppliers, manufacturing and/or Service. Lead supplier quality improvement activities e.g. Quality Operating System (QOS) teams Provide Foundation Brakes, Controls and SCS technical expertise/advice to VRTs, Manufacturing, Service, etc. and report project status at senior Quality reviews/forums

Skills Required:
Substantial experience of Project Management / Project leadership with a strong track record of delivering complex multi-disciplinary projects under tight time pressure.Substantial experience of automotive chassis engineering High drive, self-motivated and able to deliver complex solutions with minimal supervision. Confident to present project status to senior management reviews.

Experience Required:
Substantial experience of Automotive Product Development much of which is gained in a Chassis engineering area. Substantial experience working with an Automotive OEM or large Tier 1 supplier in a product development role A Degree in Mechanical, or Automotive Engineering discipline (2:1 or above) normally be required Good PC skills MS Office suite and project planning tools as well as an ability to learn new specific analysis packages Full UK driving licence (or equivalent) for Category B vehicles the candidate will need to travel between supplier, engineering and manufacturing locations.
