CAD Engineer - Special Projects

Are you a CAD Engineer looking for a change of scenery? Are you a mechanical designer with NX and Catia experience? Would you like to work within the special projects team of the UK's most prestigious automotive manufacturer?

Job Description

We have a fantastic opportunity within a world-famous OEM, based within the Special Projects facility in Wellesbourne. You will be made responsible for the realisation of the design and packaging aspects on all Body Structures in order to complete detailed CAD designs and drawings.

Your requirements:
-You will have completed an appropriate degree, preferably engineering related
-Automotive experience, ideally within Body in White or Closures environment
-Significant experience of Unigraphics NX
-Experience of TCe and Catia V5 is beneficial
-Knowledge of Body in White and Closures: metal castings, extrusions, pressings/forming, RTM, SMC & C/F panels.
-Proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
-A working knowledge of component manufacturing, tooling requirements & lead times
-In addition to the above, being self-motivated, self-starting with impeccable organisation skills would be best suited

Your responsibilities:
-CAD design and modelling of Body Structures components
-Preparation of detailed drawings to our high-standard of drafting
-Some preparation of engineering release packs
-Work under the direction of project engineer or PMST leader on a day to day basis
-Investigation of build issues in prototype and on line to establish root cause and design changes required.
-Design of components using Unigraphics NX
-Use Digibuck to review and present design concepts
