Business Development Manager - Automotive Powertrain

Let me paint a picture for you. The UK automotive industry is evolving rapidly and the introduction of new vehicles, new models and future technologies is paramount for OEM's to remain competitive in the marketplace. With that said, the competition is rife as tier 1 suppliers and consultancies fight for places on reduced supply chains and build their order books for the next 3-5 years.

As a result of continued growth in the automotive powertrain field and the advancement in hybrid powertrain technologies, a growing (and global) engineering consultancy are looking to bring on-board a business development manager to help secure new and existing business. The company boast an impressive 100 sites around the globe and show no signs of stopping there any time soon.

As a Business Development Manager you will be responsible for building strong partnerships with the company's already expansive customer base and safeguarding these customers for the future; identifying new business opportunities; delivering presentations on new powertrain technologies and developing quotations; whilst encouraging repeat business and developing large corporate key accounts.

Ideally, you will currently be working as a business development manager or sales engineer within an engines environment at either OEM, Tier 1 or consultancy level. You will be a strong customer-facing communicator and know the ins-and-outs of current/future powertrain technology.

Skills/Knowledge;

- Ideally degree qualified in an engineering or business discipline.
- Strong exposure to powertrain/engines systems engineering.
- Ideally a knowledge of future powertrain systems and their advancement within this technology field.
- A strong communicator/negotiator who always puts the customer first and advocates the company at all times.
- Ability to formulate technical quotations and proposals in conjunction with technical specialists.
- Exposure to sales based tools would be extremely beneficial.

There is some travel associated with this role, mostly within the UK however occasionally on an international basis.
