Business Development Manager, London Based - Up to £60k base with Double OTE

The Role

Business Development is the process that results in attracting new customers and penetrating existing markets. At its core it can be defined as approaching a company to suggest that there is value in doing business with each other.
It has a consultative emphasis that conveys that you are going to be deeply involved in helping them reach their goals in conjunction with your own. It suggests more of an alliance between two companies than a vendor-customer relationship and its ultimate objective is to produce a relationship that is based more on a partnership rather than client/supplier.

Job Requirements

Business, marketing, or a technology Bachelor's degree or a proven successful track record in IT consulting industry may substitute
Minimum of 3 year's experience, or equivalent skill set, in working for an IT Security Consultancy selling penetration testing, forensic investigations or similar. Candidate must demonstrate a chosen career path in sales and be able to demonstrate over achievement in previous sales roles
Be able to demonstrate knowledge in Information Security
Experience with premium, complex business to business technical/professional services sales in strategic and developing accounts, with sales cycles that range from approx. three months to nine months sales cycle
Proven experience in developing account penetration and development strategies, conducting cold calls, qualifying prospects, leading technical directors in sales process and strategy, making sales presentations, closing techniques, and developing service and pricing proposals
Proven tenacity and strategic approach to lead development including, cold calling, marketing mail shots, social media etc.
Ability to call confidently and conduct face to face meetings with senior management such as, CISO, Director, or Program Manager
Demonstrate success at working in a fast-paced, highly-competitive, and deadline-oriented environment whilst maintaining quality and reputation for excellence ability to be an active member of a team environment offering support and encouragement to others whilst encouraging a competitive but good nurtured attitude amongst fellow team members
Self-motivated individual who exhibits exceptional communication, both verbal and written, presentation, follow-up, negotiation, and closing skills. The position requires a strong emphasis on the ability to listen set, manage, and meet both client and organisational requirements
Ability to establish and build relationships quickly with global team members as well as within customer accounts
Demonstrate leadership skills, initiative, and creativity with the ability to identify and convey successful sales/marketing approaches and techniques
Must have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPointA willingness to travel around UK

Daily Duties

Prospecting through cold calling, prospecting through mail shots, attending industry events in order to network
Develop account sales plans and approaches with the Sales Director and Senior members of the team
Meet regularly with Sales Director to ensure all targets and KPI's are met
Meet or exceed quarterly targets
Meet all KPI's
Respond to proposals/RfX requests
Complete internal and external training courses
Personal research for target clients
Attend prospect meetings
Attend client review meetings
Responding to email by close of business same day as email
Track all prospects, leads, contacts, accounts, and opportunities in corporate CRM tool
Internal lead handling
Full sales cycle responsibility
Accurate internal administration
Follow all internal processes and procedures
Gather feedback from clients and prospects
Entertain clients
Prepare and deliver presentations

Location and Travel
The role is based at one of our UK offices, but will require travel to client sites when needed
