I am recruiting a Bill of Materials Specialist for a client based in Christchurch who are global innovative company that delivers highly engineered, critical function products and services to the commercial, industrial, defence and energy markets.

Job Description

Bill of Materials Specialist (Document Controller)-Christchurch, Dorset

Responsibilities:

* Generation of new Bills of Materials, and where requested, the amendment of existing Bills of Materials on Syteline
* Investigation and input of costing information within Syteline
* Assessment and prompt circulation of change requests, requests for new drawings and temporary change documents
* Provision of a source of advice and coaching for staff members on the completion of change requests, requests for new drawings and temporary change documents
* Generation, where appropriate of change requests, requests for new drawings and temporary change documents
* Monitor, facilitate and co-ordinate Production Planning Group projects with the aim of timely introduction of parts documentation and equipment to Production
* Provide prompts and project progress information to Sales and Marketing staff where necessary to achieve
* Provide advance information to Purchasing, Production and Production Engineering where necessary to achieve
* Assessment and approval of new drawing releases
* Recognition of opportunities for improvement in the above processes, and active participation in the implementation of them

Qualifications:

* Skill in the use of AutoCad for 2D drawings on a PC platform and ability to amend & manipulate 3D model files
* Familiarity with PC use, especially MS Office Applications and Syteline would be an asset
* Good understanding of Production requirements & MRP experience
* Ability to set own priorities and make independent decisions
* Good communication skills (written and verbal)
* Understanding of business processes
* Ability to work with and contribute to a team
* Ability to recognise and deal with Quality issues
* Good understanding of drawing and change control structure and processes
