Job Description

Vehicle Auto Electrician
Commutable from; Bedford, Milton Keynes, Northampton, Luton, Daventry, Aylesbury, Banbury.
Salary; £20,000 - £25,000 + Benefits

A global automotive consultancy are perfectly positioned for some huge market growth and have plans in place to expand their facilities now and over the next few years. They're clients are mostly major automotive OEM's as well as some Defence companies nationally and internationally.

As an automotive electrician you will be responsible for carrying out repairs, diagnostics and installation work on cars, trucks, vans and various types of commercial vehicles all based in a workshop environment.

Ideally, you will currently be working within an OEM, tier 1 or consultancy as either an auto electrician or a vehicle technician with a strong grasp of electrical systems. You may also be working within a garage environment performing similar tasks.

Role Responsibilities;
" Determine the malfunction of vehicle electrical systems/equipment on a range of vehicles from small car to large military.
" Repairs or replace defective wiring on various components including, lighting, air-conditioning, and safety control systems
" Carry out vehicle repairs and inspections
" Familiar in the use of various test instruments and diagnostic equipment
" Fully conversant with wiring/circuit diagrams
" Manufacture of small and basic wiring harness
" Install, maintain and repair electrically operated accessories
" Complete work tickets with detailed written report on work actioned
" Liaise with supporting staff, engineers, supervisor and customers on a technical level


" Ideally a qualified automotive apprenticeship or have formal automotive electrical qualifications.
" A proven background working as automotive electrical technician.
" Usage and a good knowledge of prototype and test vehicles.
" Familiarity with CANBus systems.
" A strong team player is a must.

This is a shift based role which could vary; day shift - 8am to 4:30pm (No shift premium), early shift - 6am to 2pm (5% shift premium), late shift - 2pm to 10pm (10% shift premium), night shift - 10pm to 6am (20% shift premium).
