Job Description

Applications Engineer
Commutable from; Northampton, Rugby, Coventry, Leicester, Kettering, Warwick, Royal Leamington Spa.
Salary from; £30,000 - £40,000 + Benefits

The automotive industry is showing no signs of slowing down and it certainly isn't for one very busy engines company who are looking for a number of engineers as a result of continued business wins and a strong order book for the next 3-5 years. They require no formal introductions when it comes to engines and their components and have a very good reputation all over the world.

As an Applications Engineer, you will be responsible for a portfolio of bearing components to provide the bridge between the internal engineering teams and the OEM customer. This will involve liaising with a variety of people at all levels internally and externally to project engineer the global development and deployment of current and future bearing products for engine systems. You will also be responsible for developing the product strategy and take ownership of a variety of R&D projects in accordance to cost, quality and time.

Ideally, you will currently be working as an Applications Engineer, Project Engineer or similar within an automotive environment managing a variety of customer engine bearing projects. You will be a proven communicator and someone who the client will be happy to put in front of their impressive customer base.


- Ideally degree qualified in an engineering discipline; either mechanical, automotive, aerospace or similar.
- A demonstrable knowledge of IC engine technology and how the various components/sub-systems work.
- Proven project management skills - be prepared to give examples!
- A strong communicator - there is a big element of customer facing so your interpersonal skills are paramount to this role.
- A demonstrable knowledge of bearings and coatings would put you at a distinct advantage.
- Proven background within an automotive R&D environment.
- A willingness to travel globally.
