Aerodynamics Designer

Job Description

We have a fantastic opportunity within a global automotive OEM. You will be based with us in our state-of-the-art headquarters in Gaydon, Warwickshire. Within our Aerodynamics teams we are responsible for the development of whole vehicles & to provide direction and support to other functions including Vehicle Dynamics, Powertrain, NVH, Body & Interiors. As an Aerodynamics Designer you will support the aerodynamic development of future Aston Martin vehicles.

Your requirements:
-You will have preferably have previous aeronautical degree or mechanical Engineering degree specialised in aerodynamics
-You must be able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the design and manufacturing process.
-Developed a thorough knowledge of the design process, preferably of aerodynamic components, in a similar role in either F1, an OEM or an innovative technology company.

Your responsibilities:
-Working alongside Aerodynamicists you will design aerodynamic components for scale model, computational and prototype testing to provide support for whole vehicle design.
-Excellent solid modelling and drawing skills, preferably with NX and an understanding of product life management systems.
-You will oversee all aspects of the ongoing development of the department's wind tunnel model, including updating testing systems to support future programmes.
-A good knowledge of aerodynamic component development using traditional fabrication, current Tier 1 supplier and leading edge rapid prototype processes, including CFRP is required.
-Experience of aerodynamic testing would be beneficial.
-In addition you will develop the department's CAD management process.
