Job Description

ADAS Test Engineer
Salary Range: £28k to £38k
Number Required: 2
Location: Nuneaton

Main Purpose of Job
To undertake test work in the field of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and to assist in the development of test capabilities.

Key Functions
" To undertake equipment preparation and installation in test vehicles and test equipment.
" To undertake tests and to assist in performing tests using various test equipment including data acquisition systems and robotic driver systems.
" To undertake driving tasks related to ADAS test work.
" To assist in the generation of test procedures, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
" To suggest and help deliver improvements to equipment, procedures and methods of working.
" To maintain and ensure appropriate calibration and or maintenance of test equipment.
" Develop, adapt and optimise ADAS test methods and test equipment on the City Circuit.
" Manage test delivery to customers to time, quality and budget.
" Manage and support technicians in test setup and test execution.
" Analyse data collected during testing and write test reports.
" To assist with the integration of the ADAS test capability with the core test and vehicle engineering offerings.
" Develop internal ADAS test skills through internal training and technology transfer.
" To represent on national and international standards committees and working groups for ADAS testing (e.g. ISO, NCAP, SMMT) as required and as appropriate.
Essential Qualifications Preferred Qualifications
" Degree level in a relevant engineering discipline such as Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Systems Engineering.
" Must have valid driver's license. Chartered Engineer.

Essential Experience Preferred Experience
" Understanding of vehicle systems
" Data acquisition, computer based data analysis and post processing skills
" Performance driving experience.
" Experience as an engineer in the automotive industry.
" Experience or knowledge of ADAS standards, testing and associated instrumentation.

What is the candidate likely to be doing now?
" Similar role in automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier
" Test engineer role for electrical or electronic systems
" Test engineer for mechanical systems with a strong instrumentation bias.
