Job DescriptionWe have a great opportunity within a global electric supplier. You will be based with a client in Cheshire supporting their vehicle programmes. We have delivered significant growth in recent years and supply major customers in the automotive, commercial vehicle and supplier sectors from our world class overseas manufacturing facilities. You will join our team of over 75,000 employees in 32 countries around the world. The role of a 3D Engineer will allow you to work with various automotive clients, on a number of vehicle lines, designing electrical harnesses and models whilst solving engineering concerns.
-You will have vast experience within electrical design and modelling, ideally using CATIA
-You should have a degree within mechanical, automotive or electrical
-Excellent communication and negotiation skills
-Experience in a vehicle manufacturing environment, preferably in a design role
-Knowledge of harness manufacturing processes and best practice in ‘design for manufacture’
- You will be prepared to travel to suppliers and client sites, driving license will be ideal
-Create of 3D models using customer specified CAD modelling tools
-Identify data requirements for 3D modelling
-Communicate with customer engineers and system owners to ensure receipt, validation, and development of modelling data
-Develop harness packaging solutions that are compliant with customer design specifications, and support compliance validation
-Deliver 3D modelling solutions, aligned to project milestones
-Represent us at customer packaging meetings, presenting proposals, and negotiating preferred packaging solutions
-Support the development of harness production documents
-Optimise harness models for manufacturing
-Support initial product builds at the Customer and manufacturing sites
