1D Analysis Engineer
Location; Northampton

Are you an automotive simulation specialist who thrives on the intricacies of engine systems, their associated components and the science behind how they work? Do you want to work for a company who boast the fact their components are in every second engine on the planet? If so and you crave variety then read on!

As a 1D Analysis Engineer you will be ultimately responsible for providing fluid analysis support to engineering programmes and to help support the FEA team. You will have a sound knowledge of engine fundamentals and be able to carry out analysis using hand calculations, spreadsheets, 1-D and 3-D modelling techniques in order to predict and validate performance targets. You will also liaise with customers, project teams and sub- contractors and present your findings as well as recommendations to customers.

About you;

+ Automotive base engine knowledge is an absolute must!
+ CFD techniques both from a 1d & 3d perspective, as well as traditional methods (handcalcs).
+ Advantageous - Fluid flow modelling, including in-cylinder moving geometry, coolant analysis and correlation with test data
+ Flexibility and willingness to travel to customer sites


+ Ideally BEng in Mechanical, Automotive or Aerospace Engineering, an MSc or PhD would be even better.
+ CEng or a member of another professional body would be advantageous.
